Privacy statement

PigPen is a single-player puzzle game. We don't run a backend, we don't track you, and we don't sell anything about you. This page explains the small amount of data the app does touch, and where it lives.

1. What stays on your device

The vast majority of PigPen's data is stored locally on your device only:

  • Your in-progress puzzle state (drawn fences, undo stack, elapsed time)
  • Your solve history — puzzle id, size, difficulty, time, mistake count, solved-at timestamp
  • App preferences — daily-reminder time, daily routine, tutorial completion
  • Your purchase status (cached locally so the app can verify entitlement offline)

This data is written to your device's protected app container. We never see it.

2. iCloud sync (Unlimited only)

If you've bought PigPen Unlimited, the app mirrors your solve log, today's progress, daily-reminder preferences, and purchase date to your own iCloud account via Apple's NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. This lets you pick up your puzzles on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.

This sync is between Apple and your iCloud account. Red Games has no access to it. You can disable iCloud for PigPen at any time from Settings → Apple ID → iCloud on your device.

3. Game Center

Leaderboards in PigPen are powered by Apple Game Center. When you solve a daily puzzle and you're signed in to Game Center, your time (in centiseconds) and your Game Center display name are submitted to the matching leaderboard.

Game Center is operated by Apple. PigPen does not see anyone else's leaderboard data beyond what Game Center itself returns to display the boards. To opt out, sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings — PigPen will silently degrade and stop submitting scores.

4. Notifications

If you opt in to the daily reminder, PigPen schedules a local notification on your device. No notification token, server, or any push-style mechanism is used — the reminder fires from inside your phone. You can disable reminders any time in PigPen → Settings → Notifications, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → PigPen.

5. Purchases

The PigPen Unlimited unlock is processed by Apple's StoreKit. Apple receives the transaction; Red Games receives an opaque entitlement signal. We do not see your payment method, billing address, or Apple ID email.

6. Analytics, tracking, advertising

None. PigPen has no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting, no IDFA usage. The app makes zero outbound network calls outside the Apple-operated services listed above (iCloud, Game Center, App Store).

7. Children's privacy

PigPen is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. The age rating in the App Store reflects the puzzle's content, not data collection.

8. Your rights

Because PigPen does not collect or store personal data on Red Games' servers, there is no off-device record of you to correct, export, or delete. To wipe everything PigPen stores on your device, use Settings → Reset all data inside the app. To wipe the iCloud-synced copy, sign out of iCloud or delete the app's iCloud data via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

9. Changes to this statement

If we materially change how PigPen handles data, we'll bump the effective date at the top of this page and call out the change in the App Store release notes.
